Who we are

Yacht Bridge ID is the free personal career space for yacht crew, operated by Yacht Bridge (“we”). For this service we act as the data controller. Contact: contact@yacht-bridge.com.

What we store

Your email address — it is your account. Accounts can only be created by crew presenting a signed Yacht Bridge Pack issued to that email by a yacht running Yacht Bridge.
Your packs — the structured career record inside each pack a yacht issued to you: name, nationality, role, CV, certificate titles and dates, sea service and signed testimonials, validated skills, experience points, and — only if you chose to include it — your working-style profile.
Sign-in codes — stored hashed, deleted after use, expire after 15 minutes.

We do not store document scans (passports, visas, certificates): those stay inside the pack files you keep on your own devices. We never store salary, banking, employer notes or evaluations — they are never in a pack.

Why we process it (legal basis)

To provide your personal space (performance of a contract — the service you request when creating your account), and to email you sign-in codes and service notices (same basis). Your working-style profile is included in a pack only with your explicit opt-in (consent). We do not sell your data, run ads, or use tracking analytics on this site.

Where it lives

On servers in Germany (EU), on a dedicated database separate from any yacht's system. Short-term encrypted backups are kept on the same infrastructure.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Deleting your account (one click, in your space) removes your email, your packs and everything derived from them; backups roll over within a short retention window. Your own pack files on your devices are of course untouched — they are yours.

Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection (GDPR arts. 15–21). Most are built in: your space shows everything we hold, each pack can be downloaded, and account deletion is self-service. For anything else, or to complain, write to contact@yacht-bridge.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will show a notice on your next sign-in.
